Mythological Creature: Werewolf
Myth behind the creature: You know the drill; man gets bit by giant dog, man turns into a wolfbeast a few nights a month during the full moon.
Appearance: Norman Reedus when he looks like a human, big rangy looking wolf when he doesn't.
Abilities: Standard; turns into a wolf during the full moon, although it's compulsory more than voluntary. He's also stronger than your standard human, and has better hearing and sense of smell even when he looks human. And he heals faster than humans from more than humans, but that's knocked out pretty quick by his horrible allergy to silver.
History:
- started out as a hunter, raised that way by a family of them, pretty damn good at it too
- three years ago he got bit on a hunt, and now he's a werewolf
- he's not thrilled about it at all, since his family pretty much disowned him after he changed the first time
- and may have tried to kill him when he didn't really respond well to being locked up in the basement like a dirty little secret the second and third nights during his first change
- he spent a few years trying to adapt; the first he tried to stick to human society, working odd jobs for whoever he could.
- After a few too many close calls he retreated into the swamp for a year, which was better for the wolf but less so for staying socialized.
- After that, he managed to find a group of Myth-born hunters rather than his former human ones, and while he still never really felt like he fit in he at least had some new people who Got It. Still wasn't the easiest situation, but one of them told him about the academy, so he headed there for some extra help
